Boise has great options to beat the heat in the summer

Here are some of our favorite swimming areas that are right out your door!

The Pools

Beginner

Boise has many public pools around the city. Two of our favorites are the Natatorium (short bike ride down the greenbelt) and Ivywild (short drive, great for kids).

The Ponds

Intermediate

Only a 5 minute walk from the WhiteWater Lodge, the ponds at Esther Simplot Park are a great place to sit in the sand and swim in the water!

The River

Advanced

Only a 8 minute walk from the WhiteWater Lodge you can access fun swimming areas of the Boise River at the Whitewater Park. There are also great swimming spots on the Payette and Lucky Peak Reservoir if you don't mind a short drive (30 min).

The Epic Swim

About a 3 hour drive from the WhiteWater Lodge, near the town of Stanley, is Redfish Lake. Swim in the lake with the Sawtooth Mountain range in the background. A truly beautiful place for a day trip or weekend.

 

If you want even more adventure, take the boat across Redfish lake and hike up to Alpine lake for a spectacular experience.
